Andy Lee Manages New Asia Office

Andy Lee, the recently appointed Asia Representative for OptiLedge, brings more than 30 years of experience in the shipping industry. Based in the new Hong Kong office, Lee is the point person for sales, technical advice, distribution and follow-up in China and surrounding areas.

Before joining OptiLedge in August 2008, Lee was a Branch Manager at JAS Forwarding Company and before that was Branch Manager at Lloyd Triestino Pacific. With both forwarding and shipping companies, Lee, who was based in Shenzhen, reported to offices in Hong Kong, USA and Italy. He was responsible for sales, account management, documentation, overall operations, and complete office management. In both positions, the offices were not only profitable, but they also grew by 100 percent during his tenure. Prior to those positions, Lee spent more than ten years working in the shipping industry in Australia as well.

“We are extremely pleased that Andy is leading our efforts in Asia Pacific. He knows international supply chain issues, he’s familiar with China and their market, and he has extensive ocean transportation experience,” said Jeff Lamb, Vice President Business Development. “Combine all of that with his fluency in several Asian languages and his management and multiple operations experience, and it’s clear that he’s a great fit.”

Lee studied in both Australia and Hong Kong, speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin and received his BBA in Hong Kong from Hong Kong Buddhist College. He also received transport management and shipping industry certifications from the Hong Kong Shippers’ Council, the Hong Kong Management Association and the City College of Commerce (Hong Kong).  His interests include golf, canoeing and tenpins bowl. He also serves as a Scout Commissioner in the Boy Scouts program.
